Soft Chocolate Cookies with Nutella, Dark and White Chocolate
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup (1 stick)
- Eggs -2
- Nutella or another Hazelnut chocolate spread - 2 tablespoons
- Vanilla Extract - 1 1/2 teaspoon
- Unsweetened Cocoa powder - 1/3 cup
- All purpose flour - 1 3/4 cup
- Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
- Light brown sugar (packed) - 1/2 cup
- Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Milk - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - Pinch of salt
- White cooking chocolate chips (or white chocolate cut into really small pieces) - 1 cup
- Semi sweet dark chocolate chips (or dark chocolate cut into really small pieces) - 1 cup
Steps
- Step 1
In a mixing bowl (use mixer preferably) combine butter (take it out of the fridge before so it’s a bit soft), sugar, eggs, vanilla and Hazelnut chocolate spread (ex. Nutella) and beat until its creamed and soft.
- Step 2
Add flour, cocoa powder, salt, milk and baking soda and mix again till its softened.
- Step 3
Add the white and dark chocolate pieces and mix around so they are spread evenly.
- Step 4
Cover the dough and chill in the fridge for up to 2 hours at least and up to 24. This make the dough easier to work with, so it’s not sticky.
- Step 5
Before you bake, preheat your oven to 177 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Step 6
Drop dough by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets and flatten a little by hand (not too much).
- Step 7
Bake the cookies for 8 minutes. Watch the cookies carefully so they do not over bake.
- Step 8
After you take them out let them cool for around 3 minutes and once they are cool, transfer them to wire rack to let them cool completely. Then they are ready!
Tip
Chilling the dough for your Nutella cookie recipe is important. Also, be very careful not to over bake, as the cookies could easily develop a burnt taste if overbaked.
