Ingredients

Batter
Butter, Unsalted, Unmelted - 1 cup (2 sticks)
Semisweet Chocolate Chips or Baking Chocolate- 1 1/4 cup (about 8 oz.)
Unsweetend Baking Chocolate - 4 oz.
Eggs - 3
Instant Coffee - 1 1/2 tablespoon
Vanilla Extract - 1 tablespoon
White Sugar - 1 1/8 cup
Flour - 1/2 cup
Baking Powder - 1 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Nuts and Chocolate Crunch Mix
Flour - 2 tablespoon
Walnuts - 2 cups
Chocolate Chips - 1 1/4 cup

Steps

Step 1
Make Your Batter

In a double boiler, over medium heat, melt the butter, the semisweet chocolate, and unsweetened chocolate. Turn heat off, set aside to slightly cool.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and butter and flour your baking pan (approx. 9×9 in).
Step 3
In a medium mixing bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and coffee with a whisk till well blended. Now, add the melted chocolate and mix with whisk for about a minute or two.
Step 4
Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix with a spoon till all ingredients are blended.
Step 5
Prepare the Nuts and Chocolate Crunch Mix for your Brownies Recipe

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, semisweet chocolates chips and chopped walnuts and use a spoon to ensure all ingredients are tossed well together.
Step 6
Add the Crunch Mix to your batter mix and use spoon to gently stir all ingredients together.
Step 7
Pour batter into your prepared baking pan and bake for about 25- 30 minutes. You don’t want to burn the edges so it is best to start checking if brownies are done after 20 minutes of baking by using toothpick*.

This recipe is perfect for birthday brownies because they are so rich!

Tip

*Brownies are done when toothpick poked in center of brownies comes out relatively clean. A few chocolate smears are okay as long as it is not all raw batter.
